Julius Masisya Musyoki Foundation transforms rural Mwala Sub-County, Machakos County, Kenya, where 35% of the people face poverty and agriculture (the region's lifeline) struggles with water scarcity and climate change. We address interconnected challenges water scarcity, sanitation gaps, educational barriers, climate impacts, youth unemployment, and poor infrastructure through sustainable, community-led initiatives. We work directly with the locals to create lasting impact from paying children's school fees, to providing sanitation & latrines for schools and public spaces, to building public stands and business stands, and training farmers in drought-resistant techniques.
Meet Our Founder:
Julius Masisya Musyoki
Born and raised in Mwala Sub-County, JULIUS MASISYA is the driving force behind The JMMF Foundation. His story isn’t separate from the community’s challenges, it’s deeply intertwined with them. Growing up, Julius witnessed firsthand the water scarcity, limited educational opportunities, and economic hardship that continue to affect his neighbors today.
As a respected community leader and successful entrepreneur, he is now channeling significant portions of his business proceeds into the Foundation’s initiatives addressing Machakos County’s most pressing needs.
His intimate understanding of the local challenges, combined with his entrepreneurial mindset, ensures the foundation’s projects achieve the greatest impact for the people of Machakos. He remains actively involved in the foundation’s work, regularly visiting project sites and leveraging his business network to forge powerful partnerships.
The Julius Masisya Foundation aims to improve the quality of life in rural Mwala Sub-County, Machakos County, educate the next generation and build resilience and opportunity for the community Julius proudly calls home.
